We believe lasting educational change is built through reciprocal partnerships where families, disabled people, educators, researchers, and communities learn from one another, share knowledge, and work together to create more inclusive, equitable schools. We advance this vision through the following interconnected activities:
Family Learning & Leadership
We provide accessible learning opportunities that empower families with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to navigate educational systems, understand educational rights, and become leaders in advancing inclusive, equitable education.
Community Learning
We create collaborative spaces where families, disabled people, educators, researchers, and community members learn with and from one another through workshops, discussions, and shared learning experiences that strengthen inclusive communities.
Research–Practice Partnerships
We partner with universities, schools, and community organizations to co-create research grounded in family knowledge and lived experience. By connecting research with reallived experience and the embodied knowledge of families, we help generate meaningful solutions that support educational systems to respond more equitably to the needs of diverse learners, including those with disabilities most at risk for educational segregation.
Professional Learning
We collaborate with educators, schools, and districts to develop family-informed professional learning that deepens understanding of disability justice, intersectionality, inclusive education, and equitable educational practices.
Resources & Tools
We develop practical, research-informed resources including guides, toolkits, webinars, educational materials, and advocacy tools—to help families, educators, and community partners promote meaningful inclusion and educational equity.
Coalition Building
We bring together families, disabled people, educators, researchers, advocates, and community organizations to foster relationships, share knowledge, amplify diverse voices, and strengthen collective efforts to advance inclusive education.
Systems Change
We work collaboratively to improve educational policies, practices, and accountability by elevating family expertise, supporting evidence-informed decision-making, and advancing educational systems where all students, and especially multiply marginalized disabled students, experience belonging, participation, and opportunity.
Community Knowledge & Storytelling
We honor and elevate the lived experiences of multiply marginalized disabled students, families, and communities. By transforming individual experiences into collective knowledge, we help inform research, strengthen advocacy, and inspire lasting educational change.
